Arcana celebrated her 10th anniversary in December 2025, and a lot has changed since opening back in 2015.

Founded by Erin Karcher and Lindsey Andrews, two women who wanted to bring a little bit of the Rider Waithe vibes to Downtown Durham, Arcana started as a space for artists, witches, and cocktail lovers alike.

Since then, Lindsey has opened her own space across town (Night School Bar), leaving Erin to oversee the magic of the space with the help of a small yet mighty staff.

A‍rcana is proud to offer great astrology and tarot readers (almost) nightly, and a diverse, and fabulous events program.

We welcome gatherings of friends old and new, and are PROUD to call ourselves a lesbian bar.

We’re a little out of the way (maybe through an alley, or one of Durham’s finest parking lots), but once you find us, you’ll never want to leave.
